Alexandra Mitchell

Alexandra Mitchell started dancing at the age of 2. She danced at Toni Zeakes Performing Arts Centre where she studied jazz, tap, ballet, and acro for 16 years. While at Toni Zeakes, the studio performed at the Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico and on a Caribbean Cruise line through the Bahamas. She also attended several dance conventions in New York City, New York with the studio, and in the summer of 2006 she trained with the Radio City Rockettes in the Rockette Summer Intense Program.
During her high school career, Alex attended St. Clairsville Schools, where she cheered for 6 years and became the first cheerleader to 4-year letter. Her high school cheer team became 2-time OVAC Champions.
Alex also was a 4-year member of an All-Star cheer team, the “Basics Superstars”, who competed and won 4 National Championships along with being awarded Grand Champs. After graduating high school in 2006, Alex decided to further her dance education at The University of Akron where she Minored in Performing Arts: Dance studying jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, and modern. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science: Coaching and Conditioning. While attending the University, Alex was a member of the dance team for 2 years and a cheerleader for 3 years.
The University of Akron Cheerleaders competed in Daytona, FL in the NCA Collegiate Championships where they placed 5th overall in 2008 and 2009, and 4th overall in 2010. Also during her college career, she was a 3-year member of an AFL dance team, the “Goddesses”, for the Cleveland Gladiators, and a 2-year cheer instructor for a cheer company called Cheerleaders of America (COA) in which she traveled across the country teaching cheerleaders of all ages.
After graduating college in 2011, Alex became the new Head Spirit Coach for her Alumni, The University of Akron, where she coached the dance team and cheerleaders for 3 years. While coaching at the University, both the cheerleaders and dance team competed in the NCA/NDA Collegiate Championships. Both teams had placed and scored their highest in school history.
In 2014, Alex returned home to the Ohio Valley where she currently resides. In 2014-2015, she assisted in coaching the St. Clairsville Junior High Cheerleaders who placed 2nd in the Jr OVAC Competition. In 2015-2016, she assisted in coaching the Wheeling Middle School Cheerleaders who placed 2nd in the Jr OVAC Competition and 2nd in the PAC 8 Competition. Alex was also the head coached of the Bridge Street Middle School Cheerleaders 2021-2024, where she won 2 Jr OVAC titles.
Also in 2014, Alex returned to Toni Zeakes Performing Arts Centre where she taught dance for 2 years. She is currently a dance instructor and choreographer for Studio MC Performing Arts Centre where she has been teaching all genres of dance for the past 8 years and coaching the MC Royalty All-Star cheer teams for 6 years. Alex also just became the Head Coach for the St. Clairsville High School Cheerleaders

She also choreographed a competition routine for the Bridgeport High School Cheerleaders, who placed third in the OVAC Competition for the first time in school history.
Also in 2014, Alex returned to Toni Zeakes Performing Arts Centre where she taught dance for two years. She is currently a dance instructor and choreographer for Studio MC Performing Arts Centre where she has been teaching all genres of dance for the past six years and coaching the Studio MC Royalty All-Star cheer teams for five years. She also just recently became the new Bridge Street Middle School Cheer Coach
