Lydia Boyd

Lydia began taking dance at the age of five at the Toni Zeakes Performing Arts Centre. When Miss Megan Campbell purchased the studio, she continued her dance education with Studio MC. She has performed many solos over the years, and especially enjoys hip-hop, lyrical, and tap. Lydia was an assistant in many classes from the age of 10, and was also a member of the MC Royalty All Stars Cheer Team. She performed with Studio MC at the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Charge basketball games. She began teaching her own classes at Studio MC during her senior year of high school.

In October, 2025, Lydia had the honor of winning the 2025 Ohio Valley Dancing with the Stars, an event that raises money for the Augusta Levy Learning Center.  She has also performed in the Lip Sync Challenge, an event that supports the Special Wish-Ohio Valley Chapter. She enjoys performing and loves to help raise money for such great causes around the Ohio Valley.

Lydia is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Ohio University Eastern. She enjoys working with children and making a positive difference in their lives.  Her goal has always been to create a welcoming classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential. She believes that elementary teachers have the unique opportunity to build a strong foundation for students' academic success, confidence, and character, and she is passionate about helping young learners grow both inside and outside the classroom.

Teaching dance at Studio MC has been one of the most rewarding experiences for Lydia. She enjoys sharing her passion for dance while helping students develop confidence, discipline, creativity, and teamwork. Whether working with beginners or experienced dancers, she strives to create a positive and encouraging environment where every student feels supported and inspired to reach their goals. She loves watching her dancers grow not only in their technical skills but also in their self-esteem and love for performing. She believes the lessons learned in the dance studio—perseverance, dedication, and confidence—extend far beyond the stage and positively impact every aspect of her students' lives.
